Senior Photonics Engineer
The goal of Brightlight is to bring transformative change to photonics technologies via integrated Titanium:Sapphire lasers. An unprecedented on-chip technology requires innovative solutions and new ideas (or revisiting some quite old ideas) to realize its full potential. Responsibilities
Co-lead the photonics engineering process from idea conception to device characterization, including: literature research, device design, simulation, layout, measurement, and performance analysis.
Design on-chip sapphire photonic circuits
Model/simulate and optimize circuit components.
Layout circuits to send to the fabrication team.
Work closely with the fabrication and product development teams.
Participate in collaborative R&D projects with academic and industry partners, attend and present at conferences.
Opportunities to take on new leadership roles as our photonics team grows.
Required Qualifications
PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related fields
Strong theoretical background in optics and photonics, including lasers.
Extensive experience with photonic circuit design, simulation, measurement
Preferred Qualifications
Background in nonlinear optics
